1 Samuel 17: 32 And David said to Saul, Let no man's heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine. And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth. And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock: And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth:
King Saul told David he was too young to fight against the Philistines, but David said, “My God is big enough, he helped me smite a lion and a bear that had taken one of my sheep.” He may have been small, but he had a heart after God. Saul tried to put his armor on David, but it was too big. The armor was to protect him, but he choose to go fully without anything except his sling and a few stones. We try or others may try for us to have the biggest and best things to fix our problems. All we have to do
is trust in God that he’s got it under control. David trusted in God more than anything. He didn’t care how small he was or how big the problem was. He just put his faith in God. Maybe God wants us to be like David instead of doing what we think feels good or what we think is best. God sets us back and says, “You don’t need all of this, you just need to trust in me and have faith that I will take care of you.” We have to get in our mindset to not give up on ourself, our friends, and our walk with God. We need to have faith like David to have trust in God. When we stare our enemies, fears, struggles, depression, thoughts of lust, rebellion, and so forth in the face, we can put it in God’s hands because he will fight for you. Hebrews chapter eleven verse one says, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Of course your problems seem horrible and it may seem that there isn't hope for you, it looks like a big train wreck and nothing and no one can fix this. In II Corinthians chapter five verse seven states, for we walk by faith, not by sight.
Challenge: Let God fight your battles, and let him take control of the situation. Let him kill your giants! Let us get our hands out of it and have faith that God will be there!
