Thanksgiving

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

- 1st Thessalonians 5:18

We are approaching the ugly duckling of holidays. Thanksgiving is supposed to be a season of just that thanks, but it is just the interim to Christmas. In the society in which we live, there is a blatant disregard for thankfulness. Everyone is chasing the next job, paycheck, or romance. No one is secure, nor are they satisfied with what or who they have. I believe that in this season, while everyone is the most stressed, prepping for that next black Friday sale, we have been given a commission. We are to reach people. Matthew twenty-eight clarifies that we are to go, but let us do a self evaluation, check yourself. Are you happy, are you thankful? We are called to be the light of the world, but we won’t do much lighting without the light source. I understand you, like me, may have already put the Christmas decorations up, but take the time this week to be thankful. We as Christians have so much to be thankful for, namely Christ! When you go to family outings this week, be the light you were called to be.
