Isaiah 59:19 - “So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.” The song defender, the words really spoke to me:

You go before I know

that you’ve even gone to win my war

You’ve come back with the head of my enemy

And all I did was praise

and all I did was worship

and all I did was bow down

and all I did was stay still.

These words could not be more true. The Lord will go before us, always. He fights our battles, he will win the war, and it will all be before we even realize. But, that’s only if you allow him to.

I have battled the spirit of anxiety for some time in my life. However, recently I have really taken control over it. When I get anxious about something I tell myself, the battle is the Lord's. We were not created to worry about anything in our life. Really, because everything we go through, the Lord has allowed it. Some stuff that we go through we have let into our life ourself. We will go through unnecessary things if we don’t pray. I have seen what people go through if they don’t pray. They carry all the weight on their shoulders, its a dangerous place. We as humans weren’t made for that, our flesh can’t carry it.

Have you ever wondered why people take their life? I believe a reason could be, they aren’t praying people. They tried to carry many burdens without giving it to God. They have tried to carry it alone, before they broke. Just like the trees weren’t made to face snow before shedding their leaves, they weren’t designed to carry that weight. What happens to trees when the snow fall arrives early and they haven’t released their leaves? The trees will actually break and the branches will fall. If we don’t release what we have held on to we will just add to and overwhelm ourselves. We try to be God and try to fight the enemy alone, but we just need to stay still.

Challenge: It is not a very uncommon thing, not letting go and letting God be your defender. We are all guilty. We are fearing to be vulnerable, our pride wants to see how much we can hold on to, because we don’t think we need help. Don’t let this spirit consume you, give it all to God, he loves you so much. 1 Peter chapter five verse seven says it well,” Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares about you.” Don't ever let the enemy make you feel inferior. You are MORE than a conquer, and you are never too far gone.

When I thought I lost me You knew where I left me You reintroduced me to Your love And You picked up all my pieces Put me back together You are the defender of my heart
