Greatness is calling
What will you press? Accept or Reject
The world pressures you to chase this effect
But the world’s meaning of the word “greatness” is suspect
So, what is greatness?
The world’s definition is to impress but it leads to distress
You can make all the money but still feel worthless
You can lift all the iron but still feel weightless
You can gain all the fame but still feel helpless
You can build the biggest house but still feel homeless
The word “greatness” has been misdefined
If you grind every day, what are you expecting to find?
Joy, peace, triumph
Then why do you work so hard and still feel misery, war, and defeat
You believe you have achieved what the world calls greatness, but
Deep inside you are still bleeding but put a smile on your poker face
It’s because you’ve been made to think that greatness is a place!
Greatness is the Savior that came to the Earth to have your past erased
Your lines retraced
Your enemy defaced
Your failures misplaced
Death replaced by His grace
Sinners embrace His faith
All because Jesus said in all uppercase
“IT IS FINISHED”
The world has twisted the word
Because greatness is not how far you go in this world
Greatness is coming back home
Into the arms of the Father, who is waiting for you to finish the race
As you round 3rd base
The world gives chase
But in the hole, there’s an ace
The game has already been decided, the Victor already crowned
Now you can go around and know what you chase
Greatness is one day seeing Jesus face-to-face and hearing “Well Done”
Pursue Jesus and it will always lead you home
To the King who waits for His child at the throne
Greatness is calling, but will you answer the phone?
