1 Peter 2:9, But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness to his marvelous light.

The world says “if you’re not first you’re last” “if you don’t fit in with the world, you’re a nobody.” While the world doesn’t want to be different, stand out. While our education systems teach uniformity, stand out. While society has made their own fashion rules, stand out. You are called to stand out.

One of the best compliments we could ever receive is, “you are different” I know in some instances it may not feel like a good thing, but truly it is. As a daughter of God it is my duty, because I am to to be distinct from this world, people notice people the way they stand out. Back in May of twenty-seventeen IBC chorale went to New York City and we had a day off. We had such a great time, we got on the subway, we kept goofing off and laughing, as we looked around us everyone was staring. They all looked so gloom, like they were so emotionless, they could tell we weren’t from there. In that moment we stood out and I bet they could see something in us so different from they are used to.

Everyone has their own talents, we use them to stand out not to bring us glory, but with that uniqueness we bring glory to God. Most times in our life we influence others around us through the fruits of the spirit that we operate in. You are not called to “fit in with the crowd” you are also not invisible! It hurts me when I hear a young person say that they don’t have a voice. If you have the Holy Ghost you are anointed and you are a child of God, so you do have a voice! We need to help others around us to stand up so they can stand out. We don’t need to tear each other down just because we are scared they will be better than us. We don’t want everyone to be the same because they can’t reach the people I can, and I cant reach the people they can.

Romans chapter twelve verse two states, And be not conformed by this world: but ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God. Our purpose for even being on this planet is to stand out so we can reach this dying and dry world.

Challenge: Ask yourself today, are you blending in or are you standing out? Remember who you are and whose you are. We have a great commission, don’t miss your opportunity to see him work. It is our reasonable service.
