Isaiah 53:5 - But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
The blood that was shed on Calvary was one of the most important, loving, and most thankful thing we should praise God for. God was beaten, humiliated, and persecuted for our transgressions. What happened that day, what God did for our sins, is so we could have freedom and worship him freely. That was one of the greatest blessings God could’ve done for us. Luke twenty-three and thirty-four says:
Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. Forgiveness is a very powerful and beautiful thing. Even though the Roman soldiers beat him, ripped off his beard, gave him vinegar, put crown of thrones on his head, and while the people screamed "crucify him" he said, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” When he gave up the ghost a soldier took a spear and pierced his side as he replied, “You really are the Christ.” God never said our life, ministry, goals, servanthood, or anything would be easy. If it wasn’t for our God who came down from heaven manifested himself in flesh and shed his blood for our sins, we wouldn’t be here today. If it wasn’t for the blood we wouldn't be able to live for him, pray with authority, or let his spirit dwell in us. The love that God has for us amazes me more than I can put into words. Today, we should be thankful for the blood.
