The reflection of your heart

How we react to situations really makes you who your are, and how you react is the reflection of your heart. When we make room for God in our heart it fills that void that willl not make room for anything less than the fruits of the spirit. So, above all else we should guard our heart.

As in water face reflects one’s face, so a man’s heart reveals the man.

Proverbs 27:19

When we look into water it will give us the reflection of our outward self. It won’t really show what is inside of you. Take the Lilly of the valley plant for an example, it is beautiful on the outside and may smell so sweet, but in fact it is very poisonous on the inside. Our heart is like a mirror to our spirit. Where we give our time and what we sow into will tell the secrets of what takes residence in us. When we are in stressful situations we sometimes believe we have to change our heart for the worse to get people to see us, or to change our identity. Instead we need to believe the good and change the negative and hurtful things around us.

Be mindful what accompanies with your heart. If you want to change what's in your life, change your heart. We shouldn't look at our hands but look to our heart and see what we've been telling ourself and believing.

God will test my heart to move the plagues and contaminating things. What does my heart hold that keeps it from reflecting the heart of God? Is it envy? Bitterness? I want nothing to be hidden. Look at your heart today, what is it reflecting in this moment? Is it the fruits of the spirit? Or it as deadly as a poisonous flower.
