In this session, we’ll be covering Noah’s obedience to God. God commanded Noah to build an ark in Genesis chapter six verse thirteen says, “Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.” Now let’s back up a little bit, God spoke and said the earth was corrupt before him. Later he says in Genesis chapter six verse thirteen says: for the earth is filled with violence. So I can see how Noah’s mind would be stressed out, but he put his trust in the Lord. Noah was obedient to the Lord and followed the path commanded of him. It takes a lot of courage to trust God when you don’t see what’s about to take place, but God holds tomorrow. He knows what’s going to happen before you’ve even had a chance to think about it.

Noah was faithful, his love and obedience was like no other for God and his works. We must have the desire like Noah to trust in God no matter how crazy it may sound or what someone thinks of you. Remember, we’re servants of the one true king our purpose in life is to serve him. When God speaks to you like he did to Noah, we must say, “Okay God I may not understand, but your ways are higher than my ways. I will trust in you.” You may ask the question, “I’m not sure how to be obedient to the voice of God or what is being obedient?” Obedience defined is: to comply or be willing to comply, or be submissive to another’s will. Sometimes in our life God will put us in different places for different reasons, sessions, trials good or bad, but it all works for our good to bless the kingdom. Saint Augustine Quoted this, “The cost of obedience is small compared with the cost of disobedience.”

Challenge: Remind yourself everything God does is for our good even if we don’t understand. Push yourself daily be obedient to God and his works in your life.
