Psalms 133:1
Behold, how good and how pleasant [it is] for brethren to dwell together in unity!
Disciples - When 120 entered into the upper room they were unified. Whatever their problems were, however they felt about each other, it didn’t matter at that moment, all they knew they had to reach God. They were unified.
When it comes to your brother or your sister needing direction ,or when something drastic is about to change in ones life, we need to be there for one another. Instead of arguing build each other up. Instead of tearing one another down encourage one another. How do we expect to help each other fight battles, win souls, pray for one another, or be there when no one else can?
If you want to build your youth group, get your friends involved, or want your family in church, learn how to pray with and for another. Do bible studies, do whatever it takes to be unified. In Philippians 2 it says, "Fulfill ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, [being] of one accord, of one mind." This means that we should be mindful of one another, our love should be for everyone ,and to have joy as well.
Without all theses things, then what are we really here for? Amos 3:3 states, Can two walk together, except they be agreed? You may not always agree with your brother or sister but in this verse it states, "hey, can we not come together and agree?" When it comes to being in unity it means to be one with each other in spirit.
A wolf pack: the first 3 are the old or sick, they give the pace to the entire pack. If it was the other way round, they would be left behind, losing contact with the pack. In case of an ambush they would be sacrificed. Then come 5 strong ones, the front line. In the center are the rest of the pack members, then the 5 strongest following. Last is alone, the alpha. He controls everything from the rear. In that position he can see everything, decide the direction. He sees all of the pack. The pack moves according to the elders pace and help each other, watch each other.
1 Corinthians 1:10,"Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and [that] there be no divisions among you; but [that] ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
Disunity- “disagreement and conflict within a group.” Operating In this manner is what caused Judas to betray God. When all the other disciples were unified it only took one person,
One wrong move. Judas let his guard down and the enemy took advantage of that. We all know the story, Judas betrayed God then he killed himself. There was consequences for his actions because he wasn’t unified with the group and God. Be careful what you unify yourself with. If you feel weak, that’s what we’re all here for, is to love and help one another.
I’ve seen some of my best friends that were unified in the church so strongly, but after sometime because we weren’t consistent our pack began to break. We lost one then, another one next, thing we knew a pack of 20 was a pack of 3. It wasn’t because we were doing bad, it was because we started getting older, we all had jobs and responsibilities. Sometimes those responsibilities got in the way of church and the pack wasn’t as strong anymore. We put everything else before God and didn’t notice our pack was being destroyed, because we had other responsibilities.
I understand you need a job, you have life going on, and you have school. That’s all okay, but make time for your pack. Don’t make the same mistakes my friend's and I did. Stay in the unity of the pack. We must be unified in our family, friends ,church and youth group.
