1 Peter 2:9 says it like this:
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
The ESV commentates this way:
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
Deuteronomy 7:6 says:
For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
Chosen thee to be a special people unto himself- means chosen for a special possession.

Isaiah 43:7 says:
[Even] every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.
1 Corinthians 1:9 says:
God [is] faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him .
Here is the thing, we are God’s pocessions. We were and are made for, and by him. This means when you are not living for God then we are stealing from God. The psalmist pens in Psalms chapter one hundred and fifty verse six:
Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.
Challenge:
Realize today that our life is not our own. With every breath that we take, and every move that we make must be for the one that we belong. The most beautiful thing about God is the fact that God has given us the chance to choose him. Today choose him!
